This time, we’re bringing a San Bernardo variety coffee, a natural mutation of Typica first discovered in Guatemala in the 1930s–40s, known locally as Paché and later renamed San Bernardo as it spread to Brazil. This lot comes from the farm of Evelio Realpe, a founding member of the El Bombo Cooperative in Pitalito, Huila. He came across the seed of this variety while working as a coffee picker on other farms and decided to plant it on his own farm, El Rodeo, with the hope of growing a coffee that would bring long-term stability and, at the same time, be something truly different. |
