In May 2024, Leonardo Henao, our Director of Coffee, acquired one of our farms, La Palma, and decided to rename it El Jardín, inspired by the Roman philosopher Epicurus. His garden was a space dedicated to personal transformation and the blossoming of ideas—a concept Leo embraced to symbolize the rebirth of new projects on this farm.
El Jardín is something like a coffee lab. It’s a place where new practices in farming, production, varietals, and fermentation processes are explored. Its purpose is to test and validate these techniques before sharing them with other producers, ensuring they bring real benefits to them and to the quality of the coffee.
