In May 2024, Leonardo Henao, our Director of Coffee, acquired one of our farms, La Palma, and decided to rename it El Jardín. This space serves as a sort of coffee laboratory where new practices in the field, varieties, and fermentation processes are tested, with the goal of validating these techniques before sharing them with other producers to enhance their work and the quality of their coffee. Although the SL28 variety originates from Kenya, its reputation has led it to be cultivated in regions of Central and South America, where it stands out for its sensory complexity. For some time now, Leo has been developing it on his farm, El Jardín. This coffee embodies the characteristic notes of Kenya: black currant, plum, and panela, delivering a unique experience in every cup. |
