William, his wife Aminta, and their children Mauricio and Geraldine are the perfect example of families who not only live off the land but also respect and deeply enjoy it. Their farm, La Esperanza, is located on a steep hillside in China Alta, a small a small "vereda" located two hours plus from Ibagué.
Upon arrival, we are greeted by Manchas, their dog, who guides us through the coffee trees and the corral, where ten curious goats (who help keep the weeds down) stare at us with an expression of gossipy aunts.Along the way, we also see melipona bees buzzing around everywhere. "Their honey is sweet and aromatic," William, an enthusiastic beekeeper, tells us as it’s the first thing they offer when we get to the house.
William and his family produce the most exceptional coffee in this region. Working with them and being able to offer you this coffee origin is a real privilege!
