Raisins with a touch of jazmine and pepper.
Don Parménides Agripino Santacruz was born and raised in Pompeya, Nariño. This small and remote town is found at the end of a twisted dirt road that penetrates the Juanambú Canyon, located near the humid highlands that separate Nariño from the Putumayo rainforest. Parmenides grew up in these remote lands helping his father in his farm until the illegal armed groups that dominated the area for decades forced everyone to grow poppies, a plant with a beautiful flower which brought a fleeting sense of prosperity to the region but soon turned into instability and violence. With peace also came an opportunity to start over; for more than ten years Parmenides and his family have been cultivating exceptional coffees, making the most of unique climatic conditions to produce one of the most delicate and elegant cups that we have enjoyed in Pergamino.
